In pain, we cry, "Lord, Why?" Your plan is our confidence But it hurts Jesus, bring comfort in sorrow Our hearts ache to know the why, We don't understand, but we try to trust. We cry, "Lord, make Yourself known! Help our weakness and unbelief!" We Cry, Our Hearts Cry. Lord, You alone can heal. Guide us to Your embrace. You mold and grow us through pain and grief. You are our Father and Teacher Love on us now Show Yourself Embrace us Calm our turmoil Lord Jesus - We Cry Help
I recently reread a poem written by a missionary to Peru back in the 1930's and onward. I want to share it with you: Somebody Prayed by Louise Jeter Walker Somebody prayed and my burden was lighter, Somebody prayed and my path became clear, Clouds rolled away and the sunshine was brighter, Jesus, my wonderful Savior was near. Prayer hands outstretched over ocean and mountain, Helped me press onward when I was afraid; Thirsty souls drank at the life-giving fountain, Somebody,
When love is lost What can remain? When pain is sharp And hurt severe? My Loving Lord! Draw us near! To Your cross Forgiveness clear! Offense is strong All sides on guard Lord, break this bond! Your victory, won! Satan celebrates While discord reigns Demons laugh As pain enslaves! We are Yours Lord! Break us free! Humble us! Let us see! Your truth is hard, But always best! Forgiveness humbles, But gives us rest. In chaos Lord, Take the reigns! Our sin so clear, Our life in ch
You Heal the brokenhearted, You calm our raging seas. With humble grace You saved us, How my heart does sing! Great Love You have bestowed us, Such beauty undeserved. My love so insufficient, Pride and selfishness grossly incurred. Amidst my rags and filth, You called me to Your Light! I balked in my unworthiness, No works could my wrongs, right. But You, my wrongs, forgave! And daily, my sins, still forgive! Your love for me, unscathed, In You, my Lord, I live! Each day more
Author Unknown Last night I took a journey to a land across the seas.
I didn’t go by ship or plane, I traveled on my knees.
I saw so many people there in bondage to their sin
And Jesus told me I should go, that there were souls to win.
But I said “Jesus, I can’t go to lands across the seas.”
He answered quickly, “Yes, you can by traveling on your knees.”
He said, “You pray, I’ll meet the need. You call, and I will hear.
It’s up to you to be concerned for lost souls fa
By Amanda McKinney How can I go back to the day-to-day, When my heart remains so many miles away? I trust You know my future, But the waiting seems as torture. What a mighty, Blessed God You are! Who knows what's needed both near and far! Lord, show me my place in such great an abiss, So I may be used in such a time as this. There is such need, But I don't know where I fit - So I pray dear Father, Lead me to it! #poetry
By Amanda McKinney My chest is weighted! My heart will burst! My desire is great And with such passion I thirst! Lord lead me! Send me! Take me to the ends of the earth! I want to work! I want to serve! I want to live on Your turf! Be it Peru, be it Africa Be it China, or Guam! I don't want to stay comfortable- Complacent- at home. Move my home! Give me guidance to go! Wherever You wish - That will be my new home! Lord You have prepared me For whatever Your will: I am willing
By Amanda McKinney My cares I cast on Thee My tender, loving Lord When life is overwhelming And throws me overboard. My mind may be a jumble My body, weak and worn Its then You grab and hug me And in Your lap I'm Borne To sleep in Your safe arms No worries, cares, or stress To be embraced and loved Is my forever rest. Your words surround and comfort Your tender love embrace With gentle strength and guidance I'm led into Your grace. A peace so freeing A sleep infused with calm
By Amanda McKinney I am so blind! Please, Lord help me to see! Through this American Mask Of pride and hypocrisy! We are so broken, Yet we think we know best; Thus we impose upon the world And with such flourish, oppress. Who are we To think we are gods? All-triumphant pawns Against all odds? How audacious! How absurd! We are merely swine Among the herd! Please Lord, give me Your eyes I wish not to be blind. I want to see all as beauty Not just preserved images in my mind. Yo
By Amanda McKinney When in the midst of trials, When darkness seems to come; My Savior always beckons, And wraps me in His arms. Although my life seems lonely And barren as can be, My Jesus always loves me And calls me to His feet. Tis only my Sweet Jesus Who, my burdens gladly shares And lifts me to HimselfAnd my trials gladly bears. Sweet Jesus, Oh my Savior, My husband and my groom; When lonely nights arrest me, He calls me His dear own. #poetry
By Amanda McKinney Oh, the joy, the peace, the calm, When in the midst of hymn or song, My hands move smoothly through the air; In praise to Thee, a prayer, I share Oh, what a Blessed gift to have! So unworthy, yet so glad, When those whose ears receive no sound, Can know Your grace and love abound. Lord, if I could live each day, And do no more, than Your words say: From Your heart and through my hands, Your love for these shall always stand. #poetry
