Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jig

I’m back in my rustic, jungle-weathered home in Pucallpa after a month-long visit back to the U.S.! It was such a great trip being able to see my parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews! It was an especially awesome treat to be able to meet my newest nephew Slayden at only 4 months old! Missing the first year of my previous 4 nieces and nephews during my first 2 years in Peru was not pleasant…

While I was in the U.S., I celebrated my 3 year anniversary of serving in Peru. February 10th will always be a special day for me as it marks my Brother’s birthday and my arrival to Peru! I did not particularly plan that, but it works! Lol These last 3 years have been amazing, frustrating, crazy, and fulfilling all at the same time! I wouldn’t change them for the world and I look forward to hopefully many more years here in Peru!

As I reflect back on what the Lord has done in my life in these 3 years, I am awed and amazed at His love, kindness, guidance, protection, teaching, and molding of me. I have grown and changed soo much and I am forever blessed and grateful to my wonderful Lord for this! As difficult as many of His lessons can be, I don’t want to leave and have my situation be any “easier.” Being completely dependent on God for everything is a very humbling and amazing experience. He is my Father, my comforter, my companion, my healer, my Lord, my strength, and my hope. As a very imperfect daughter that constantly struggles to take control, He is so patient to draw me to Himself, teach me, love me, and mold me into who He wants me to be. It is most definitely not easy, but it is wonderful and I long to be more of an example of His character and love.

As this next year serving here proceeds, I look forward to whatever the Lord has in store this year and I continue striving to submit every area of my life to His control and will. To Him be the glory and honor forevermore!
